What is PDF Verify?

Verify Signed PDF checks a document signed with TabTasker Sign PDF. The file is parsed and its fingerprint recomputed on your device, never uploaded. The recomputed fingerprint is compared with the public ledger record, proving the document is byte-for-byte the one that was signed and showing the authoritative signing time. Five clear outcomes tell you exactly what holds: verified, timestamp pending, changed after signing, cannot be verified, or no proof present.

How to use PDF Verify

  1. Drop the signed PDF into the verification well; add the JSON receipt if you have it.
  2. The proof inside the file is read and the fingerprint recomputed locally.
  3. The public ledger entry is fetched and compared, and the verdict appears with the evidence underneath.

Use cases

Frequently asked questions

Is the document uploaded to verify it?

No. Parsing and hashing happen on your device. The only network access is a read of the public ledger entry, which contains nothing but an anonymous fingerprint.

What does "changed after signing" mean?

The originally signed version inside the file is intact and its public record is valid, but content was added afterward, commonly by saving or annotating in another PDF app. Review what changed before relying on it.

Can I verify a file someone else signed?

Yes, that is the point. Anyone holding the file can verify it, with no account and no contact with the signer.

What if the ledger cannot be reached?

Integrity is still verified on your device, and the verdict says the public timestamp could not be confirmed, which is distinct from a failed check. Retry when you are back online.
