Read this first: TabTasker is a free, browser-based service provided to you at no charge and entirely on an "as is", "use at your own risk" basis. We accept no responsibility for the tools, their output, or any decision you make based on them. By using the Service, you accept all risk of doing so.
1. Acceptance
By using TabTasker (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are under 16, please do not use TabTasker.
2. The Service
TabTasker provides free, browser-based utility tools for working with PDFs, images, audio, AI tasks and developer utilities. The Service is funded by voluntary donations, as described in section 3.
All file processing happens locally in your browser. We do not receive, upload, store or transmit the contents of the files you process. Your files never reach our servers.
External requests can still occur without sending the contents of your files:
- Some AI tools download model weights or assets from third parties (such as Hugging Face) on first use. This contacts those servers and may expose your IP address and request metadata to them.
- Our hosting provider receives standard HTTP request information. If you send a contact or feedback form, the information you choose to submit is sent to our form provider so we can respond. These data practices are described in our Privacy Policy.
We may add, change, suspend or withdraw any tool, feature, or the Service as a whole at any time, without notice and without liability to you.
3. Funding and donations
The Service is provided to you free of charge. We fund the Service through voluntary donations from users who wish to support the project. We do not display advertising or sponsored placements.
Donations are voluntary gifts. A donation is not a payment for the Service, does not create a contract between you and us, and does not entitle you to any specific feature, level of service, support, priority, warranty, or any other treatment beyond what is available to every user free of charge. The Service is, and remains, free to use regardless of whether you donate.
Donations are processed by third-party payment providers under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details. Your interaction with the donation platform is governed by that platform's terms.
Donations are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law or by the donation platform's own policy. If you believe a donation was made in error, please contact us and we will consider your request in good faith, but we are under no obligation to refund.
Donations do not change these Terms. In particular, donating does not affect the "as is" basis of the Service, the disclaimers in section 4, or the limitation of liability in section 5. The liability cap in section 5 applies equally to users who have donated and to those who have not.
We are not a registered charity. Donations are not tax-deductible and do not qualify for Gift Aid.
4. No warranty, no advice
The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties including, without limitation, merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, completeness, security, uninterrupted operation, and freedom from error or malware.
Without limiting the above, we make no representation or warranty that:
- the tools are correct, accurate, reliable, complete, current, or free from defects;
- the tools will be available at any particular time, will function without interruption, or will be free from bugs or errors;
- the tools will work correctly in any specific browser, device, operating system, or environment;
- any specific output will be produced, or that the output is correct, complete, or fit for any specific use;
- outputs from AI-powered tools are accurate, unbiased, complete, or free from fabrication or harmful content;
- data held in your browser session (settings, intermediate files, results, history) will be preserved across page refreshes, tab crashes, browser updates, storage clearance, or device changes;
- the Service or any third-party assets it loads are free from viruses, malicious code, or harmful components.
The Service is not professional advice. Nothing produced by or through the Service constitutes legal, medical, financial, tax, regulatory, engineering or any other professional advice. You must not rely on the Service for any decision of consequence and must obtain advice from a qualified professional where appropriate.
Always verify the result before relying on it. This applies in particular to any use connected with legal contracts, official submissions, regulatory filings, medical or safety-critical decisions, financial transactions, or any consequential matter. AI outputs in particular must be reviewed by a qualified human before any consequential use.
Nothing in this section affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Assumption of risk and limitation of liability
You use the Service at your own risk. Because the Service is provided to you free of charge, runs entirely on your device, and we have no control over your inputs, environment, or use of the output, you accept full and sole responsibility for:
- your input data and your decision to process it through the Service;
- the use you make of any output, and the consequences of that use;
- verifying the accuracy and suitability of any output before relying on it;
- maintaining your own backups of important data;
- the security, configuration, and updating of your own device and browser.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- TabTasker, its operators, contributors, affiliates, licensors and suppliers shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service. This includes any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary or punitive damages, and any loss of data, files, profits, revenue, goodwill, business, opportunity, use, or anticipated savings, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such loss.
- Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims of any kind arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed £10. This reflects the fact that the Service is provided free of charge, on an "as is" basis, and that you are free not to use it. Any donations you may have made do not count as payment for the Service and do not increase this cap.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms affects your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless TabTasker, its operators, contributors, affiliates, licensors and suppliers from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- your use or misuse of the Service;
- your breach of these Terms or of any applicable law;
- the content of any files you process through the Service or any output you generate;
- your infringement of any rights of any third party;
- your reliance on, or use of, any output of the Service.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- process content that you do not have the right to process;
- circumvent technical protection measures, digital rights management, or access controls on files you do not own;
- generate, store, or distribute content that is illegal in your jurisdiction, including child sexual abuse material, content depicting minors in sexual or exploitative contexts, content inciting violence or terrorism, or content infringing the intellectual property rights of others;
- upload or process malware, viruses, or files designed to exploit vulnerabilities in the Service, your device, or other users’ devices;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer the protections of, overload, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure;
- scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service in bulk;
- resell, rebrand, or commercially redistribute the tools or any substantial part of the Service as your own product;
- use the Service in a way that infringes the rights of any third party.
We reserve the right to block access (by IP address or other technical means) to any user we reasonably believe to be in breach of this section, even though the Service does not require an account. You will have no claim against us for any such block, and any donations previously made are non-refundable in these circumstances.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding, codebase and selection of tools, is the property of the TabTasker project, except where otherwise stated.
The Service is built on a number of open-source libraries, each governed by its own licence (such as MIT, Apache-2.0, ISC and BSD). Use of those components is subject to those licences, and we acknowledge the contributions of their authors.
Your content remains yours. Because we never upload your files, we acquire no rights to them and make no claim to your input or output.
9. Third-party services
Donation processing. Donations are handled by one or more third-party payment providers as described in section 3. Your payment is handled by them under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details.
AI model assets. Some AI tools download model weights from Hugging Face or similar providers on first use. Contacting those servers may expose your IP address and request metadata to them. Your file contents are not transmitted. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, behaviour, or licensing terms of any third-party model.
Other third parties. Any other third-party service we integrate is described in our Privacy Policy. Your interaction with these third parties is governed by their own terms, and we accept no responsibility for them.
10. Privacy
How we handle technical data, cookies, donation processing and analytics is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms as the project evolves. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For material changes, we will display a notice on the Service for at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service.
If you use the Service as a consumer resident in another country, you retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections under the law of that country.
13. General
- Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.
- No agency. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, employment or joint venture relationship between you and us.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may assign ours freely.
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TabTasker regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements relating to it.
